Gary Eisner, Jonathan Skippen and Freya Tanzer join Rennie Partners
Rennie Partners has come off to a flying start in 2022, adding three consultants to its expanding ranks.
The addition of Gary Eisner, Jonathan Skippen and Freya Tanzer lifts the size of the strategic, commercial and regulatory consulting firm to 16 across its offices in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.
“These appointments are on strategy for us, and we are on track to meet our 12 month goal of 20 team members across Australia with three further announcements we will be making in late March,” said Simone Rennie, partner and one of the firm’s two co-founders.
Gary Eisner has joined the consultancy as a senior business analyst in Sydney, having previously worked for the Australian Energy Market Operator and the NSW Government’s Greenpower program. With a Master degree in Environmental Management from the University of New South Wales, Eisner was most recently responsible for the delivery of regulatory advice on the WA Distributed Energy Resources Program, leading the development of DER inverter standards.
Jonathan Skippen has joined Rennie Partners as a senior business analyst in Brisbane from his previous role with EY’s Transaction Diligence team. A Chartered Accountant with Bachelor degrees in Law and Business (Finance), Skippen has spent the last two years advising on various types of transactions, including public listings, competitive buy-side and sell-side transactions and financial feasibility assessments. Prior to that he spent time overseas with Scott-Moncreiff in Edinburgh, and two years in EY’s Assurance business focused on the resources sector.
Freya Tanzer has joined Rennie Partners as a graduate business analyst in Brisbane, taking the 2022 graduate cohort at the consultancy to four (along with Angus Mival, Amy Bottolfson and Adarsh Verma). Tanzer graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts/Economics in late 2021, and has been working with Kaplan Professional for the past two years. Rennie Partners opened its doors in July 2021 after former EY leaders Matt Rennie and Simone Rennie decided to launch their own boutique. The firm has since established itself as one of the fastest growing management consultancies in the country.
Prior to launching the firm, Matt Rennie spent a decade with EY, including stints as Oceania Power & Utilities practice leader and head of EY’s global Power & Utilities Transactions business, having previously sold his consultancy Energy Advisory Services to EY in 2011. He was also a strategy partner with EY Parthenon – the firm’s strategy consulting outfit.
Likewise a senior member of EY’s global Power & Utilities practice, Simone Rennie spent upwards of six years with the firm to 2019 as a Director. She then ran energy market regulation at the Australian Energy Market Operator.
